Petrozavodsk - Kizhi - Belomorkanal - Solovki

Arrival to Petrozavodsk.
Accommodation in "Severnaya" hotel. Breakfast.
Departure to Kizhi Island by "Cometa" ship (1,5 hours
across Onega Lake).
Arrival to Kizhi Island. Excursion around the "Kizhi"
Museum Reserve.
Departure to Petrozavodsk by "Cometa" ship (1,5 hours
across Onega Lake).
Arrival to Petrozavodsk. Lunch.
Excursion around Petrozavodsk.
Dinner.
The 2nd day
Breakfasts. Departure from Petrozavodsk to Medvezhegorsk (bus transfer).
Dinner in Medvezhegorsk.
Departure from Medvezhegorsk to Kem (bus transfer). Visit of the
Povenchanskaya Stairs & the memorial cemetery Sandormokh, where
in 1937 one of the shootings of solovki prisoners took place. History
of the building of Belomorkanal.
Arrival to Kem. Dinner.
Departure to Solovki (the three-hour boat transfer across the White
Sea).
Arrival to Solovki. Transfer by bus to the hotel. Check-in.
The 3rd day
Breakfast in the hotel.
Two-hour walking tour around the monastery, excursion "History
and architecture of the Solovki monastery", visit of the churches
and the monuments included to "The List of the world heritage
of UNESCO". Excursion "Reference and conclusion on Solovki",
attendance of the first in USSR complex historical exposition of
the Solovki State Museum Reserve devoted to GULAG system.
Lunch in the hotel. Walk to the sea coast.
Dinner in the hotel.
The 4th day
Breakfast in the hotel. 
Boat tour along the hand-made channels and lakes of the Big Solovki
Island connected to the general hydraulic engineering system. The
campaign is accompanied by the guide. Guests are invited to take
seats in rowboats for 4-6 persons in each.
Picnic lunch by a campfire at the bank of a lake ("ukha"-soup
from fresh fish, a barbecue, tea from "samovar" with wood
herbs).
Bus excursion "The Monuments of the Solovki minor-monasteries:
Savatievo, Isakovo, Sekirnaya Mountain". Cloister monastery
on Sekirnaya Mountain with the Assumption Church and the highest
lighthouse of the White Sea. During camp times SLON's IV department
- penalty isolator - was located there. Under the northwestern slope
the Memorable cross to killed prisoners was erected by patriarch
Aleksey II in 1992. In Savatievo - the place of the first settling
of Savatii and Herman - political prisoners (anarchists, socialists,
Mensheviks) of the camp were contained. In 1923 Savatievo became
the first place of mass shooting in the camp, and up to 1937 - the
largest camp department. Excursion will be finished by the visit
of the former Isakovo minor-monastery - the center of timber cuttings
in SLON, and the place, where holy Herman lived and worked according
to the legend. In 1925-1928 the imprisoned Catholics accomplished
their services in the Herman's Chapel.

The 5th day
Breakfast. Check-out time.
3 hour sea tour to the Big Zayatsky Island. Visiting of the first
in Russia stone harbor of XVI century, St. Andrei's Church erected
in 1702 by Peter I. The history of ancient stone labyrinths of III-II
millennium B.C. and archeological researches, conducted by prisoners;
of female isolator and the penalty missions, which have become the
prototype of the Hitler's "camps of destruction".
Lunch in the hotel.
Transfer by bus to the airport or to the pier. Departure from Solovki.
Departure to St.Petersburg.
